January we had an afternoon of great food, wine, music and friends hosting the San Diego Chamber Orchestra's conductor Jung Ho Pak. February we gathered at Napa Valley Grille for Dr Reveles wonderful talk about San Diego Opera’s production of Samson and Delilah. March we attended Beauty and the Beast performed by the California Ballet. Prima Ballerina Jennifer Curry gave us an exclusive back stage tour. April we raised over $4,000 to support the Arthritis Foundation at the Little Black Dress Party. Graham Ledger hosted the elegant evening . We also sold out a black tie concert in Rancho Santa Fe with the San Diego Chamber Orchestra. May we enjoyed an Italian wine tasting at Trattoria Acqua as well as a talk from local opera enthusiast Carol Platamura. June was a very busy month! Several members took on the challenge of the Camp Pendelton Mud Run. We also supported a Bachelor/Bachelorette auction, raising over $14,000 for breast cancer research. At the end of the month, we joined Campbell Networks and Ovation for the side- splitting Old Globe production of Avenue Q. August we hosted an evening with Shakespeare. The San Diego Shakespeare Society performed scenes from As You Like It on a unique outdoor stage. September IvyHour hosted a conversation about San Diego with city council candidate Todd Gloria and we saw the precious Dead Sea Scrolls with the Wharton and MIT Clubs October we danced the night away at the San Diego Symphony’s annual black tie gala. Then, we teamed up with the Young New Lawyers Division of the Couny Bar for an evening of Mozart, performed by the San Diego Chamber Orchestra. November we mingled at the Early Evening at Mingei International Museum. The Athenaeum’s A-List invited us to the opening of painter Raul Guerrero’s new show. December we raised money again for breast cancer by participating in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. We celebrated the holidays with the Arts, attending Beethoven’s Ninth at the San Diego Symphony and The Nutcracker at the California Ballet. We also hosted our monthly happy hours, games nights, and movie nights. 2008 will be even better! Come join us! |
