MOPA: Movie Night Barbarella

Museum of Photographic Arts

 

The Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park (MoPA) invites you to a quarterly event called “ POP (Photos Off the Prado) Thursdays,” a night of film, art exhibitions, music and mingling. www.popthursdays.com

 

We will be featuring the film Barbarella (1968):

When free love and bad fashion ruled, there was only one Queen of the Galaxy.

 

In her shag-carpeted spaceship of love, Barbarella crash-lands at MoPA. Catch the sex-ploits of this space age adventuress from a seat in MoPA's theater or watch from the bar as it is projected on the walls. Grab a drink. Take in the art. Snap a portrait in MoPA’s antique photo booth. Get creative and lounge in the galleries with Dr.Sketchy's

Charity Workouts

Brian Bischof, Olin Hyde and IvyHour

 

Charity Workouts is a weekly boot camp to get in shape and to help our local community. We are raising Money for OutdoorOutreach.  Outdoor Outreach empowers San Diego at risk and underprivileged youth to make positive changes through outdoor physical activity. Our favorite trainer, Brian Bischof, is hosting the charity boot camp!

What you need:

* Water.
* A small towel for sweat.
* A large towel/mat to keep you clean when we hit the ground for abs.
* A comfortable workout outfit and a light jacket. It might be chilly to start and we'll warm up quickly.

This address is for a nice grassy park at Thorn and 28th Streets. It is easy to find, has tons of parking, is a nice area, and we can meet here every week.

Join IvyHour for Sangria and Salsa dancing at Cafe Sevilla in the Gaslamp - http://www.sevillanightclub.com. We will be gathering at 7:30 pm in the upstairs bar to nibble on tapas and sip sangria. Free Salsa lessons by Valerie starts at 8:30 pm. Beginners are welcome, no partners are required. It is a fun and social way to work on your Salsa steps and meet new people. Games night is back, this time we moved it out of the bar and into the
cozy setting of a member’s house!!!! So please feel free to bring any
cool board games that you have (bring your Twister, Pictionary, and
Trivial Pursuits). We will be playing board games for the first hour
or so then bust out the Wii and Rock Band throughout the night you can
also play pool, darts. Game night is always casual.

Join us for wine and Shakespeare’s classic comedy Twelfth Night . We will be mingling at the Wine Lover’s Night pre-show cocktail hour at 6:30 pm. Drink wine and nibble on a selection of snacks with your friends before watching the Bard’s hilarious play filled with shipwrecks, mistaken identity and true love.
